What is the NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is Australia’s first nationwide insurance program designed to support people with disability. It provides direct funding to individuals, giving them greater choice and control over the services and supports they receive.

How do i apply?

You will need to talk to a Local Area Coordinator (LAC) at your local NDIS office. Talk to them and ask them what supporting documentation you will need to lodge with your application form

Am I eligible for the NDIS

You need to be aged between 9 and 65

If you are younger than 9 years old you will need to consider the early childhood approach whereby the NDIS support under 9 year olds and their families. Are you an Australian Citizen, permanent resident or protected special category Visa Holder You need to live in Australia

Disability Requirements Do you have a disability caused by permanent impairment The NDIS is only available to people who have a disability caused by a permanent impairment. The impairment may be intellectual, cognitive, neurological, sensory, physical, or psychosocial.
